The problem of children born with metabolic diseases is almost unknown by the general public. More than 800 kids each year are born with this disease that causes severe physical and/or mental decline. Metakids is a fundraising organisation for research on the disease.
The campaign has just started. Already a lot of free publicity and hunderds of social media likes (from the general public and the creative community)
The creative idea was to make an ‘in your face’ campaign that covers the 4 most common forms of decline caused by the disease. Childrens faces were carved with the effect of the disease. For ethical reasons no real children were used. The photography was a compilation of 5 different children morphed into one picture of a child for each ad.
To explain the name Metakids, the name of the disease: metabole ziekten was used in the campaigns slogan.
The typography was handcrafted (knive cut through paper).
Aim of the campaign is raising awarenes for the terrible impact of the disease and brandawareness for Metakids.

‘A great poster can be amazing, strong and engaging. Sometimes to think ‘inside the box’ is even powerful than to think ‘out of the box’. Great image, copy and design.
Catchy and simple.’
