The film shows the strong tie of the growth of the dutch heritage and wealth with the simplicity of wind as everlasting source of energy. The animation contributes to the low barrier entrance of the bonds as consumer product. Within a couple of weeks all 400.000 shares were sold to the national public.
A short animation film shows both an ambitious and realistic view on the Netherlands as sustainable society. We see a the Netherlands being built up from simple sheets of paper carries by the wind. It tells about the growth of the Netherlands during the past centuries, and the importance of the wind in gaining our wealth. Slowly, the narrative unfolds towards a climax with new wind mills as the future of further growth. The sheets of paper appear to be bonds, small investments in these windmills.
Eneco strives for 100% sustainable energy for everyone. As frontrunner in the Netherlands offering sustainable sources of energy to the mass, it’s latest product was the offer of wind certificates. These bonds (or shares) allow everyone, both clients and non clients of eneco, to invest in wind energymills with the little amount of €25,-. As this is quite an unconventional product for an energy supplier, and on top of that also serves a very broad audience, Eneco wanted to introduce this new service in an accessible and inspiring way to the dutch audience.
