ADCN brings back the Yearbook – pre-order your copy now

Six years after the publication of the last yearbook, ADCN is bringing back the yearbook. With this, ADCN aims to spotlight the creatives behind the work. The 51st yearbook will be released in the fall of 2024, but you can already pre-order your copy here.

Based on the concept by Joris van Elk, the upcoming yearbook will be divided into 50 equal parts; one part per edition. Makers of the past 50 books will design the work and credits of the Dutch Creativity Awards winners and finalists in the style of "their" yearbook. Given that the first book was introduced in 1968, some makers have passed away. The younger generation will pick up that part to collectively support the reintroduction. This way, the current industry supports the reintroduction. Creatives who want to take up the baton and design a part of the book can contact ADCN.

"The return of THE book. Finally!" says Joris van Elk, maker of the last five yearbooks. And it's just as well, Joris believes, because although the work being created and awarded now cannot be summarized on paper, there is no better medium to inspire than a book. "Because only a book immortalizes the work that must never be lost."

Historical The first ADCN yearbook was published fifty-six years ago, in 1968. It featured an overview of all the advertising pieces awarded by expert juries from 1967, the first year in which advertising agencies could submit their work for evaluation. Since then, thousands of advertising pieces have been judged and awarded a Lamp by hundreds of creatives in the field. All finalists and winners have been thoroughly documented in the yearbooks. One book was no longer sufficient, resulting in the final yearbook titled FIN in 2018, featuring the best work from 2017. FIN was the yearbook that visually ended in black (see image below). After a six-year hiatus, the 51st yearbook will be released in the fall of 2024. "Expressions come and go through various types of media, but a tangible book remains. In the book, you see the high level of creative work in the Netherlands, setting the standard. Historically, the book is interesting because each edition is a sign of the times," explains Denise Willigers, Managing Director of ADCN.

The 51st yearbook will be exclusively available for ADCN members on pre-order. Click here to register for the book.
