Without wanting to state the obvious, this year has forced us to shift perspective and see things in a new light, whether that be in a metaphorical or very much literal sense.
With our OPTICS Issue, we shine a light on diverse perspectives, new ways of seeing on both a professional and personal level – come together to strive for social change, learn more about our mission to make our industry more inclusive, and become disorientated through a mesmerising optical illusion thanks to our cover artist.

It is designed to introduce, accelerate and provide access to passionate 16-28 Black, Asia and Minority ethnic creatives.
Challenging the online crisis of infodemics.
It has become clear that social media has the power to create different universes, where there is often still a ‘grey area’ around what legally and morally is considered to be right or wrong. Christopher Wylie, author of Mindf*ck, is one of the 100+ contributors in this report about how to stop 'infodemics'. It offers 250 recommendations on how to rein in a phenomenon that threatens democracies and human rights, including the right to health.

'I think our minds tend to stick to the rules we know, it’s great when art is able to elevate ourselves out of our rusty thinking patterns.' – Rogier van der Zwaag
A huge thanks to Rogier van der Zwaag for being our second FRONTIER and designing the cover of our OPTICS Issue. Through shifting the perceptions and perspectives, Rogier’s work often creates optical illusions that mesmerise, dumfound, spark curiosity and disorientate the viewer – which made us immediately think of his work for our OPTICS theme. Check out our interview with Rogier.
- GOWTU x Eurosonic Noorderslag present Do it for the culture – a panel tonight at 19:00 (CET) where in light of the crisis, they'll discuss why it’s important to invest in culture, the power of contemporary culture, and how it can help your brand grow while contributing to the growth of communities.
